Bend Oregon Restaurant Design

Dear Irene Restaurant Interior

A talented chef, and his wife and partner Irene, wanted to create a dining experience like no other in Bend, Oregon. Their dream was clear – to craft Dear Irene, a restaurant with the personality of a hot pink Lamborghini, a place that would stand out from the crowd.

Working within the confines of a historic building, we navigated the intricacies of Bend’s architectural heritage. We embraced the existing brick wall, honoring the space’s history. Every detail mattered, even down to the custom-designed front door that sets the tone from the very entrance.

A custom-built banquette from Portland, hand-picked upholstery, and meticulous attention to color and texture selection brought the interior to life. We left no detail unattended, specifying materials, from windows to baseboards, ensuring a cohesive and delightful experience.

Our involvement extended to the bar design, tile selection, flooring choices, and overall material specifications. The mix of rich walnut, historical brick, and unexpected funky accents harmoniously blend to create an unforgettable atmosphere.

This project was about more than just design; it was a journey fueled by passion, creativity, and a shared commitment to making dining an extraordinary experience.

Our Favorite Details:

Achieving harmony in the narrow space through innovative flooring tile transitions. We also enhanced the dining room’s sense of spaciousness by removing obscure windows, replacing them with clear glass, and extending materials seamlessly into the back lounge, creating an open ambiance within the confines of the building. Our design journey encompassed a transition from wavy floor patterns to delightful dots.

A yellow lacquered wall with custom trim work leads guests from the center corridor to the restrooms. Then, guests are delighted with either room they choose.

The Drunk Monkeys restroom embodies the spirit of fun and post-pandemic celebration, designed to make guests smile.

In the Festival Memories restroom, graffiti-inspired wallpaper sets the stage for a bold, creative space. Selecting the perfect tile was an adventure, with blue eventually giving way to striking black. The 6×18 black tiles and penny tile floor create a captivating contrast.
